The Undesirables: Five Awesome “Underdog” Muscle Cars

The word “awesome” is quite subjective here. Would we consider the following cars cool simply because they’re underdogs? Many may reply with a resounding “YES!” But not so fast–these poor cars have been passed over time and time again.  Sure, it was the mid-70′s and performance automobiles were scarce when the majority of these cars [...]

On one side of the spectrum you have high-powered factory drag cars, now commonly producing upwards of 500 horsepower. On the other side, you’ll find an ever growing crop of zero-emission, ultra-high fuel efficiency economy cars. What makes all of this possible is technology, research, and development.

Most people will tell you that the hardest part of getting into the hobby is finding an affordable, decent condition project car to start with. In many cases, that’s true. Keep in mind though that in today’s economy, it’s a buyer’s market.

Chances are, there’s a few guys out there reading this article that share a lot of similarities with me. Young, poor, and full of hopes and dreams! Last week though, I got a little taste of modern muscle cars, and it felt good.

With tons and tons of modifications and only 21,000 original miles on the car, this Bandit tribute Trans Am is absolutely a steal.

I dug up a couple recent bits of news regarding what used to be known as the Pontiac G8 here in America, and I couldn’t resist doing a write up on why we absolutely need this car in the United States again.

Ford and Dodge were quick to create factory beasts in an attempt to gain muscle car supremacy, but where is the Camaro in this bloody battle?

Not even a couple weeks after we found out that the Camaro will have 580 horsepower with their LSA supercharged engine, we get even better news from Ford, regarding the GT500′s future power plant.

They’re uncommon, so you definitely won’t see them all over the place, it’s quick, and it has a recently rebuilt engine. For such a nice looking Comet like this one, the price seems pretty fair to me.
